BTSMS is a very serious condition. Back to school mom stress occurs in 1 out of every 1 moms. A mom you know could be dealing with this sanity threatening condition. Specialists recommend taking deep breaths and chilling the heck out!

Whether you are a working mom or a stay at home mom, we all feel the demand to have everything taken care of to ensure your child has everything they need to have the most awesome school year. This could be your kid's first day of Pre K, 4th, 7th or their senior year, nonetheless you worry. Sometimes I don't even realize I'm stressing until I lose it. Most the time it comes out on my poor husband. I apologize and he helps me reevaluate all my crazy thoughts.

Once I take a step back and look at the big picture, I think to myself,''Will my kids really remember the brand name of backpack I bought them this year? Will the other kids actually care what color tennis shoes they wore on the first day of school? Or will anyone care that I didn't sign up to be a volunteer?" Then I get this slap in the face from reality and have to realize that all the thinking and planning I am doing isn't going to matter in the long run. All that is going to matter is that I raise thoughtful, decent children and that they have fun and they learn.

It's hard for me to not take everything so seriously. I want the best for my kids and I want to give them the world, but pushing myself isn't helping them. It is more beneficial to be a happy mom than a perfect mom (which doesn't exist.) I am slowly but surely letting go of these unrealistic expectations (in motherhood and in life in general.)

As always, thanks for reading and I hope you all have an amazing school year!
