WELCOME to our What The Flock? Blog's FIRST official post!!

To our HENS!...

I would like to introduce myself and give you an idea of what you can expect to see on our blog. My name is Jade, and I am one of the many personalities behind Chicken Row Market. I am a work-from-home mom of 2 little ones that I love more than anything, an amazing husband and a very large family that I am beyond thankful for.

Never in a million years would I think I would be sitting at my kitchen table attempting to write my first blog entry while my 3 year old throws toys at me asking me to play. Starting this blog is scary and exciting at the same time, but I am ALL here for it! I look forward to stepping out of my comfort zone and figuring out more about myself in the process. I think I am one of the most relatable people you will ever meet. I am down to earth and a realist, so I hope this doesn’t ever come across as being negative in any way. I have to refrain from putting LOL (unlike every other text message I send.) I want this blog to reflect the realness of life issues we all go through, in a way that can help us make sense of it all. Also I will be keeping you up to date on all the shenanigans going on at Chicken Row Market every week and filling these blogs with ALL the chicken puns!

It's about to get real y'all! These blog's are going to challenge you each week to help you work on yourself. This week I want to talk about comparison. You know, the stealer of joy. We all do it. It’s almost impossible not too, but it’s super damaging to our self esteem. I would like to challenge you this next week to not compare what you are doing to what others are doing. I know that can be an especially hard thing to do since we live in the 21st century and everyone is constantly posting the best versions of themselves online. We compare ourselves to others almost involuntarily. Let’s agree to be more intentional with our thoughts. Instead of comparing, let’s be inspired by what others are doing and joyful about what you are doing. One of my favorite quotes to always remember is, “Comparison only leads to one of two things: Pride in believing that you are better than others OR low self esteem falsely believing that others are better than you. Neither belief is beneficial or accurate. Remember, no one in the whole world can do a better job at being you than you.” - Ariane McQuain. And always remember that we are all in this crazy thing called life TOGETHER!

Thank you for reading! Stay tuned for updates on all things Chicken Row Market. You don't want to miss all the inside information!

Have an Egg-cellent weekend!
-Jade
